RADIO presenter Suzie McGuire beat her husband with a host of household implements during a violent bust-up at their home, court documents claimed last night.
Mum-of-four McGuire is alleged to have chased Derek Mitchell, 34, knocked him down a flight of stairs and stamped on his head.
It’s claimed the DJ then yanked down his shorts and underwear before carrying out an indecent assault on his bottom with a shoe heel.
The Clyde 1 host, 44, who returned to the airwaves two weeks ago after maternity leave, faces trial at Paisley Sheriff Court in September.
The alleged incidents took place at the couple’s home in Eaglesham, Renfrewshire, in December last year.
The charges, exclusively seen by The Scottish Sun, claim ex-breakfast show favourite McGuire shouted at accountant Derek in a threatening or abusive manner.
She then allegedly pursued him, forced open a bathroom door and repeatedly shouted and acted aggressively.
It’s further claimed she hit Derek and knocked him down stairs where she punched, kicked and stamped on his head and body.
The court papers, which use her married name Mitchell, allege she repeatedly struck him with various household items — before the attack on his bottom. A Crown Office spokesman said: “Susan Mitchell is scheduled for a preliminary diet on August 20 and trial on September 2.”
The afternoon show presenter married Derek in 2010 and the couple have a boy and girl together.
She also has two daughters with insurance company
chief ex Gregg Ross.
In the months before her wedding to Derek, she told The Scottish Sun: “We’ve been together for two years, although like any couple we’ve had our ups and downs. We’re really happy now.
“Derek is great with my girls. He dotes on them and they love him back.”
She also revealed how Derek had the Latin phrase ‘Suzie amor ad aeternam’ tattooed on his chest — meaning ‘Suzie love to eternity’.
She added: “He told me, ‘You’ve committed to me by having my baby and I wanted to show you that I’m committed to you’.”
After a court appearance in December, McGuire hid under a coat as she was smuggled away from court.
She appeared from custody at Paisley Sheriff Court after spending a night in the cells and was released on bail following the brief hearing.
She then lay down in the back seat of a car as she was driven away.
Former drivetime presenter McGuire joined co-host George Bowie on the Clyde breakfast show after former favourites Des McLean and Adele Cunningham were axed in August 2010 — before she left to have Poppy.
She took over from Scottish Sun columnist Robin Galloway earlier this month in the 2pm to 6pm afternoon slot.
